HARDEN Players are presenting a new play written by one of their own members.

Shine, penned by John Hamilton, is being presented at Harden Congregational Church.

Performances take place this Friday and Saturday (October 6/7), and on October 13 and 14, at 7.30pm.

The production is described as "heartwarming, humorous and uplifting".

A spokesperson says: "Shine revolves around the transformative journey of six strangers who find themselves united by a community payback sentence, imposed due to various offences.

"Tasked with building the set for an upcoming production of The Importance of Being Earnest by the Bidworth St John Players, the diverse group embarks on a remarkable journey of self-discovery and redemption.

"As they navigate the challenges and triumphs of their shared endeavour, an unbreakable bond forms amongst them, enabling each individual to achieve the extraordinary.

"Shine is a touching story that promises to evoke laughter, tears and a myriad of emotions, all while leaving audiences with a profound sense of joy.

"It is a testament to the power of second chances, the resilience of the human spirit and the ability to find light even in the darkest of circumstances."

Tickets are available, priced £6, from Harden Post Office or at hardenplayers.org.uk/tickets. There is a 50p surcharge with online purchases.
