PUPILS from South Craven School at Cross Hills have visited Parliament.

Following a tour and workshop led by Westminster's education centre, South Craven MP Julian Smith spoke to the students about his work as a Member of Parliament and answered questions.

The school group was led by head of humanities, Wendy Hamilton, who was making her second visit this year to Westminster.

She visited previously as part of the UK Parliament Teacher Ambassador Programme.

Mr Smith said: "It was brilliant to see South Craven students and speak to them about my role as their MP and answer questions. We had some really interesting discussions.

"It was a great opportunity for everyone to find out a bit more about how our democratic system and institutions work."
