MAKERS will be showcasing their products at an event in Keighley next weekend.

Arts charity Keighley Creative is staging a 'Maker Faire' at its premises, the former Argos store, on Saturday, December 16, from 10.30am-3.30pm.

Artist and sculptor Leonie Briggs is running the event, which will feature stallholders selling items including artworks, handmade gifts and jewellery.

Keighley Creative’s art studios will be open too, giving visitors the chance to discover more about artists based in the town.

And there will be a Christmas baubles workshop in the education room.

Leonie said: "We're offering a perfect opportunity for local makers and artists to promote their work and unique products to the community, which then can support them and enjoy some Christmas shopping at the same time."

Keighley Creative is also staging a free craft workshop in Keighley Market that day, from 11am-3pm, where children and their parents/carers can make festive frames.

Other town-centre attractions on December 16 include a Christmas market at the Royal Arcade, Low Street.

It will feature stalls, carol singers, a Santa’s grotto, underground tours and a chance to explore the arcade's independent businesses.
