A SCHOOL which sent congratulatory messages to King Charles III following his coronation earlier this year has received a letter of thanks from the monarch and Queen Camilla.
Children at Wilsden Primary School took part in a wide range of activities to mark the historic crowning – including dressing in red, white and blue; drawing pictures; cooking, and planting an apple tree in the school grounds.
Celebrations culminated with pupils sending the messages, which also outlined the importance of the environment and sustainability to the school.
In the royal response, the children were thanked for their "wonderfully kind letters and drawings".
Liz Davison – executive headteacher at Wilsden Primary School, part of Focus-Trust – says: "The teachers and children are incredibly excited to have received the letter – it has been a great boost for everyone.
"We are hugely proud of the children for their drawings and letters to His Majesty."
