A RESTORED historic mill is hosting a Burns Night supper and ceilidh.

The event, at Ponden Mill, Stanbury, follows the success of a similar celebration last year.

It takes place on January 25 – when the life and work of legendary Scottish poet Robert Burns is marked, on the anniversary of his birth date.

"We will be hosting a traditional Burns supper – with haggis, bagpipes, swords and whisky – plus a lot of dancing!" says Richard Trainer, for Ponden Mill.

"The restoration of the mill has reached the stage where it can now host major events, and what better way to start the season than with a party on what would have been Robert Burns' birthday.

"Get the whisky flowing and those floors shaking, all in celebration of Scotland's favourite son!"

A vegetarian option will also be available.
