A STEETON company has won recognition for its export achievements.
Acorn Stairlifts has received the Export Award in this year's Insider Made in Yorkshire Awards.
The firm supplies its products to more than 80 countries worldwide, and has branches and distribution networks on four continents.
According to its latest results, 72.5 per cent of Acorn's annual turnover is now generated by overseas trade, amounting to just under £178 million.
Insider Made in Yorkshire Awards judges paid tribute to the company's "continued export growth and agility in responding to supply chain issues", and described its market-leading position in North America as "a rare achievement for a UK-based manufacturer".
The awards scheme also saw Acorn shortlisted for accolades in the Medical, Life Sciences and Healthcare, and Manufacturer of the Year, categories.
Nick Wilson, Acorn's UK and Europe operations director, says: "Acorn is very proud of its Yorkshire roots and the global business we’ve built, so we take great pride in winning the Made in Yorkshire Export Award."
