Keighley police have promised to investigate all information reported by local people about drug dealing.
The pledge was made on the neighbourhood policing team’s website after the success of a resident’s tip-off.
The report led to a 34-year-old local man being charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs.
The man was stopped in the street this month and drugs were found following a strip search at Keighley Police Station.
The man was taken to hospital for the drugs to be removed and a substantial amount of heroin and crack cocaine was found in a plastic bag.
A police spokesman said: “This is another good example of your neighbourhood policing team acting on residents’ concerns making your area a safer place.
“We encourage members of the public to report any suspicious activity or smell coming from a property.”
People can contact police on 01535 617119 or phone Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
