A “shy and timid” teenager pressured into storing heroin and crack cocaine has been spared a custodial sentence.
Eidnan Mehmood, 19, of Redcliffe Street, Highfield, Keighley, pleaded guilty to possessing class A drugs with intent to supply.
Bradford Crown Court heard on Friday that the drugs were found by police searching Mehmood’s bedroom last June.
Officers seized 159 wraps of heroin, worth £1,361, and 151 wraps of crack cocaine, worth £1,500. Mehmood’s barrister, Elyas Patel, said he had no previous convictions and was very frightened by his court appearance. He was shy, timid and softly spoken.
Mehmood was sentenced to a community order for two years with unpaid work. He was ordered to pay £445 in costs.
