Turning right from Howden Road into Ings Way, Silsden, taxi driver Amjid Hussain hit a pedestrian, throwing her on to the windscreen, magistrates heard.

The woman was knocked unconscious for a short time and was laying in a pool of blood when police arrived, at about 8.15am, on December 17 last year.

Hussain, 51, of Ashleigh Street, Keighley, who admitted driving without due care and attention, was told that he faced a ban under the totting up procedure and because of the impact it would have on his job, he would be best seeking legal help.

The bench in Bingley adjourned the case until April 30 after hearing the woman suffered a fractured collar bone in the accident.

Hair stuck in the corner of the windscreen was evidence that she had been thrown on to the bonnet. She had been unconscious initially but came round and was confused.
