World Cup hysteria following England’s victory over Slovenia turned ugly when fights broke out in Silsden and Keighley.
Around 10 people clashed in Bridge Street, Silsden, near the Bridge Inn at about 8.20pm yesterday.
The disorder then continued into the town’s Co-operative store, where a kiosk was damaged.
In High Street, Keighley, men and women were throwing punches at each other outside the Gatehouse pub at around 9.50pm.
A spokesman for Airedale and North Bradford Police said that by the time police officers arrived on the scene in Silsden, the group had dispersed and no crime was reported.
When police attended the scene in Keighley, no one wished to make a complaint.
No arrests were made at either incident.
A spokesman for the Co-operative Group said: “Male youths were fighting amongst themselves in the car park at Silsden, which spilled into - and briefly continued inside - the store.
“The counter staff called the police and managed to usher the youths outside, pull down the shutters and close the store before the police arrived to deal with the disturbance.
“Fortunately, no one was hurt in the incident, nothing was stolen and only minor damage was caused to the kiosk door.”
