Around 30 Keighley schools are closed again today due to the weather conditions.

Although there was no further heavy accumulation of snow overnight and main roads are clear, minor routes are difficult to negotiate.

Oakbank, Holy Family and Parkside secondary schools and University Academy Keighley – plus Beechcliffe and Phoenix special schools - are all shut.

Primary schools closed include Crossflatts, Cullingworth, Denholme, East Morton, Harden, Haworth, Holycroft, Ingrow, Keighley St Andrew’s CE, Lees, Long Lee, Merlin Top, Nessfield, Oldfield, Our Lady of Victories, Oxenhope, Parkwood, St Anne’s, St Joseph’s, Stanbury, Steeton, Victoria, Wilsden and Worth Valley. Strong Close Nursery & Children’s centre is also among the casualties.

Train operator Northern Rail said today’s morning and evening peak-time services on the Airedale line would run as normal but during the day the timetable will be reduced to hourly.

Some bus routes in outlying areas are still impassable. Passengers are advised to check before travelling by visiting keighleybus.co.uk or phoning 01535 603284.
