Rocketing into a Keighley primary school was Leeds author Tony Frais.

He joined pupils at St Joseph’s Learning Support Centre who are currently reading his book Noah’s Rocket.

Tony read extracts from his books and answered questions on story writing.

Jenny McGuinness, the centre learning mentor, said the children were thrilled to meet the author in person.

She said: “The session inspired the children to keep thinking up new ideas for stories and to have the confidence to share their ideas with others. One of the children gave Tony one of his own stories to read.”

Tony also held a workshop with year 5 children in the main school.

Jenny said: “The visit was a great success and we hope to work with Tony again in the future.”
