A calendar featuring the photographic efforts of school pupils raised hundreds of pounds for charity.

The £300 proceeds from the 2011 calendar were presented to a representative from Manorlands hospice at University Academy Keighley.

The calendar was illustrated using pictures taken by members of the school’s photography club.

The group, which usually has about 10 members from different year groups, meets every Wednesday afternoon.

Club leader Peter Clayton said: “We go out to beauty spots such as Redcar Tarn, Cowling Pinnacle and Bolton Abbey and take the photos there.

“We use some of the photographs to produce a calendar each year and donate the proceeds to charity.

“The calendars are bought by staff and parents.

“This time we produced 100 and sold them for £3 each.

“We sold all of them and could easily have sold even more.

“We were very well supported by local firm Raiseprint, which printed the calendars for a very good price.”
