Key Stage Two children at Keighley’s St Andrew’s CE Primary School have stocked up the school’s library to mark World Book Day.
One pupil from each class in years three to six visited Waterstone’s, in Bradford, to choose new books, after discussing with their classmates first what kind they would like. They had a budget of £320 to spend between eight classes and returned to school with more than 70 books.
Mrs Nicola Bohanna and Mrs Gillian Grimshaw, who accompanied the group on its mission, said they were highly impressed with the way the youngsters carefully studied the synopses on the back of the books before making their selection.
