Dozens of firefighters tackled an inferno at the Keighley Poundstretcher in Cavendish Retail Park.
Read the eyewitness reports:
- Carla Richardson, 32, one of the bystanders on Cavendish Street, said: "I was coming home from work and got completely stuck in a traffic jam. I wasn’t going anywhere.
"I left my car to come and have a look and saw flames coming out of the roof.
"I really hope there was no one in there. The inside must be gutted."
- Another onlooker, 46-year-old Safdar Malik, said: "It’s pretty shocking to see a fire this big right in the middle of town.
"They seem to have stopped the flames now but the damage must be huge."
- An East Parade shopkeeper, who did not want to be named, said: "I was just closing up when my brother called me and said ‘have you seen what’s going on outside your place?’
"When I went out it was chaos - the road was closed off by the police and the back of Poundstretcher had flames and smoke pouring out.
"The wind wasn’t blowing the smoke my way at least. I’m just glad it hasn’t spread to other buildings."
