This is a relaxed and mellow collection of piano based tracks from the Danish singer/songwriter.
Her debut album invokes an image of sitting by a lake with the water gently lapping the shore. Her songs are slow, considered, hypnotic. Never ostentatious she eases you into every song with agreeable, pleasing openings.
The opening track is the instrumental' Falling, Catching', and it relaxes you into a stress-free, 40 odd minutes of sublime sounds.
I really like this album, there's scant brashness amongst this offering, little drums or dominant instruments other than Obel's polished piano craft. The track 'Just So' provided the music for a mobile phone advert in Germany, it's a simple but engaging composition of uplifting melodies and lyrics.
