Keighley's Central Hall is vying with the Royal Shakespeare Company's theatre for a prestigious award.
They have both been shortlisted for the heritage section of the Institution of Structural Engineers (ISE) annual awards.
Central Hall, Alice Street, has also been shortlisted for the Royal Institute of British Architects Northern Network Awards.
The former Methodist Chapel, built in 1893, was last year transformed into a community centre.
The Structural Awards are given in several sections including entertainment venues, retail properties, bridges and sports facilities. The heritage section honours achievement in the structural design of a building or infrastructure-related project, where the style and integrity of the original structure is maintained.
The four-strong heritage shortlist includes the Royal Shakespeare Theatre at Stratford-upon-Avon, which has undergone a £57m transformation.
The other finalists are the Mizen Head Footbridge which spans a 50 metre-wide sea gorge in Ireland, and the Arts Tower at the University of Sheffield.
The winning projects in each section will be announced on November 18.
The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Northern Network Awards aim to showcase the North's finest new buildings, landscape design and interiors.
Bringing together the institute's long-running Hadrian and White Rose awards for the first time, the competition celebrates architecture, landscape and interior design.
Central Hall is one of almost 30 shortlisted buildings.
