Judging by the packed house you may struggle to get tickets for this show but those that have got them already are in for a real treat.

The musical by Queen and Ben Elton does not take itself too seriously which is a big part of the show’s appeal.

The story is set in the future where live music, instruments and songs are banned but the Bohemians and two rebels set out to change this and battle the Killer Queen and her Globalsoft empire to bring back living rock.

Noel Sullivan is perfectly cast as young dreamer Galileo and gave a strong performance and had tremendous chemistry with the powerful and hugely entertaining Amanda Coutts as Scaramouche.

Other stand-out performances were given by Earl Carpenter who took the role of Commander Khashoggi with just enough relish and no cheese but stand-out moment came from Jenny Douglas (Meat) signing Only the Good Die Young.

It was a true hair on the back of the neck moment and shows she has come a long way since Over the Rainbow, also Ian Reddington offers good comic relief as Pop.

With an excellent supporting cast this is a show that should not be missed and the standing ovation was well deserved.
