Red Sky July is a newly formed trio compromising husband and wife team Shelley Poole (Alisha’s Attic) and Ally McErlaine (Texas) along with Charity Hair (The Alice Band.
The album of the same name is their debut album. Together they make a country/folksy sound and from the opening guitar chords of Hymek, the songs are well crafted and, as you would expect considering their antecedents, it's also very well played and made.
An easy listen, laid back and generally very agreeable, the stand out track for me is the harmonious and playful Loving You’s Easy' and the simply wonderful Green Country Lanes. They are finely arranged songs that display Shelley and Charity’s clear and strong vocals.
I liked this a lot. It's a hazy cordial composition of an album and won't offend anyone sitting in your country/soft-rock collection.
