Keighley runner Stuart Preston (pictured) is gearing up to take part in the London Marathon as part of a campaign to raise £10,000 for Parkinson’s UK.

Mr Preston, 34, who is a finance manager at Bradford University, will take part in the 26-mile race in the capital next month.

He is aiming to raise money as part of a fundraising drive by fellow Keighley and Craven Athletics Club runner Richard Nelson.

Mr Nelson started a campaign to raise the cash after being diagnosed with the disease at the age of 51.

Mr Preston took up running only two years ago and this will be the first time he has taken part in a marathon.

He said: “Running a marathon is a huge challenge and I’m sure it won’t be easy to complete.

“My aim is to raise as much as possible for Parkinson’s UK to help Richard out with his goal of raising £10,000.”
