The location of the district’s urgent GP out-of-hours centres – including the one at Airedale Hospital – will remain unchanged after local people contributed their views in a consultation.

More than 300 people wrote to NHS Airedale, Bradford and Leeds about the proposals for urgent care, which could have seen GP out-of-hours centres in the district reduced from three to two.

Many more contributed their views through focus groups, at supermarket drop-ins and at public meetings.

People were asked to tell the Primary Care Trust their views about where the district’s primary care out-of-hours centres should be located.

Based on their comments, and information held by the PCT about where and when local people use the services, directors decided there should be no change.

This means that the primary care centre near to the A&E department at Airedale Hospital will remain, opening from 6.30pm to 8am weekdays and 24 hours on Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays.

The other centres are at Bradford Royal Infirmary and Eccleshill Community Hospital.
