People with learning disabilities came together at a celebratory event in Keighley.

Hosted by Bradford District Care Trust and the Healthier Lives Group, the event was held to mark Learning Disability Awareness Week.

More than 70 people were at Victoria Hall. Nurses, physiotherapists and dieticians from the care trust demonstrated aspects of healthy living such as how to make healthier food choices and exercise in different ways.

Activities were held throughout the day to get everyone involved including tai-chi, a giant parachute game, a computer fitness games and bunting painting.

Krystal Hemingway, who organised the event, said: “We wanted to include a wide range of organisations and voluntary groups so everybody could get together to mark the national week. It was a great way for people with learning disabilities to meet each other and learn valuable information while having fun.”
