Proms on the Farm is returning for its ninth year.

The event will again be staged at Sycamore Farm, Brunthwaite, Silsden, tomorrow (Saturday July 21).

The field will be open from 2pm to set up picnics, with the music starting at 7pm.

The Skelmanthorpe Brass Band – one of the oldest brass bands in the country – will play favourites from The Last Night of the Proms, accompanied by soloist Sarah Halstead.

Silsden’s For One Night Only group, formed for the inaugural Proms event in 2003, will entertain with folk, ballads, country and western, while Herr Jen’s Concert Band promises to get everyone dancing.

As usual, the proceeds will be divided between Manorlands hospice at Oxenhope and Silsden Methodist Church.

“2012 is a very special year. We have celebrated the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, we had Euro 2012 and, of course, the Olympics are being held in our country. This year we hope the Proms on the Farm will be special too,” said the organisers. “We have a great line-up with music for everyone.”

Tickets for the event are £10 and can be purchased at Twiggs Newsagents, Kirkgate, Silsden. Awning space can be booked by phoning 01535 654509 For more information, visit promsonthefarm.co.uk .

Since the last Proms, the team has boosted funds by organising two concerts in the town and a series of tea dances.
