A six-year-old Keighley girl has become one of the youngest to complete Wainwright’s Coast-to-Coast walk.

Ada Wood and her mum Amy Hield, of Glen Lee Lane, completed the 200-or-so-mile route in just under a fortnight.

They set off from St Bees in Cumbria on Saturday, August 11, and arrived at Robin Hood’s Bay last Friday.

Amy said: “I wasn’t sure how it would go but Ada was keen to do it and she is a fit and determined young lady.

“We camped along the route, so we didn’t need to commit to any timescale by booking accommodation and we could drop out at any time.

“But Ada kept up with the average of 15 miles a day and we finished it alongside adults who had started the walk on the same day.”
