Hike hopes for sparkling success
9:00am Saturday 1st September 2012 in News
Manorlands’ Starlight Hike is set to sparkle.
Organisers are putting finishing touches to the night-time event, being staged next Saturday, September 8.
The 10km walk will start and finish at Haworth Park and an array of entertainment is planned.
Keighley band Audio Test Pilots will play, walkers will be able to have their photos taken and obtain keyrings as mementoes of the night and a fire juggler will appear en route.
Proceeds from the event will go to the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.
Manorlands fundraiser Richard Martin said: “We have planned an amazing evening full of entertainment and special moments.
“The route will be lined with entertainment including acoustic music. The half-way mark is significant as participants will walk through the grounds of Manorlands, which will be lit with candles.
“We are aiming to raise as much money as possible for Manorlands and at the same time provide a brilliant evening for all walkers.”
More than 700 people are expected to take part. To sign up, call (01535) 640441 or visit starlighthike.org.
