Young Meia and Kashi Bates (pictured) had the opportunity to inspect a Giant African Land Snail at an Animalympics ZooLab workshop at Silsden Library.
The event – one of 23 staged at libraries across Bradford district – allowed youngsters to learn about the animal kingdom and meet creatures ranging from snails and newts to tarantulas and scorpions.
“Children love learning about the animal kingdom in this way,” said Coun Susan Hinchcliffe, Bradford Council’s executive member for culture.
