Golden moment for Exley Head girl Liberty
A seven-year-old girl from Keighley was thrilled to meet one of the world’s top athletes.
Liberty Paxford, from Exley Head, had her photograph taken with American triple jumper Christian Taylor, who won gold in the London Olympics, and even had a chance to wear his coveted medal (above).
He was competing in the Great North CityGames, in Gateshead.
Liberty, a pupil at Nessfield Primary School, was in Gateshead to take part in the Great North mini run. Mum Donna Paxford said her daughter was delighted to meet Christian, who was signing autographs at the side of the track during the CityGames.
