Six escape unhurt after suspected arson attack

Smoke from a blazing car filled the bathroom of an adjacent house following a suspected arson attack early this morning.

Six people were inside the house in Ashleigh Street, Keighley, when the incident occurred at 2.30am.

Firefighters called police when they discovered stones had been thrown through the windows of both the car and the house.

Crew commander David Knox, of Keighley Fire Station, said the Toyota, which was parked alongside the terraced house, was gutted in the fire.

He said: "Nobody was injured but the house had a window open upstairs and the bathroom filled with smoke. There were six people in the house. It could have been dangerous."
