MEMBERS of the Fairtrade Keighley group took part in the Airedale Shopping Centre’s Cycling Fun event.
Volunteers manned a stall providing passing shoppers with a wide range of products containing ethically-sourced ingredients.
Richard Dillon, from Fairtrade Keighley, said: “With so many visitors expected in the town for the Tour de France visit, we wanted to promote the growing number of shops and cafes supporting Fairtrade in Keighley.”
Boots, Marks & Spencer, The Body Shop and The Fragrance Shop gave products for the stall, including perfume, chocolate, wine and tea and coffee.
Local businesses Lavender Fields Emporium & Tea Room and the Slow Food Kitchen served tasting samples from their menus to appreciative members of the public.
The day's cycling theme was provided by a bicycle-powered smoothie maker. The bike was donated by Oxfam and was transformed into a smoothie maker by Leeds City College and Fablab, with fruit, milk and juice donated by Marks & Spencer.
