AN EXPANDING furniture firm has moved to new premises.

Pineoakio Furniture Ltd has opened a combined showroom and workshop in Parkwood Street, Keighley.

The official opening was performed by Keighley's deputy mayor, Coun Javaid Akhtar.

He was accompanied by his daughter Fazia, and other guests included Long Lee and Parkwood town councillor Judith Brooksbank.

Also there was David Gagen, a business advisor with Airedale Enterprise Services, which has provided ongoing help and advice.

Pineoakio was established in 2010 by husband and wife, Mick and Stacey Bower, after they identified a gap in the market in Cullingworth and the surrounding area.

The company has continued to grow and the couple identified a need to expand further as people requested more joinery services.

Mr Bower said: "We spoke to a lot of our customers about moving to Parkwood Street and had a very positive response – we feel this is the best way we can offer people an even better personal and professional service."

Mrs Bower added: "Customers who want bespoke furniture love the fact they can come into our shop and tell us exactly what they want, and we will make it for them. If they want a chest of drawers with 10 drawers painted pink with black spots on that's exactly what they get!"
