A KEIGHLEY charity has a chance to win a slice of £150,000 as part of Yorkshire Building Society’s 150th anniversary celebrations.

The society, which has branch in Low Street, has pledged £150,000 to leave a lasting impact in the communities it serves.

Housing services provider Keyhouse applied for a £10,000 donation from the Society’s Lasting Legacy Fund and is one of 30 charities to make the public vote.

If successful, Keyhouse says it would use the £10,000 to renovate an empty house in Keighley. The completed house would be let at an affordable rent to a needy local family.

Graham Mynott, Keyhouse head of project, said: “We're calling on all our supporters and members of the public to help us make a real difference to our community by voting for our project online.”

People have until Friday October 31 to vote for their favourite three causes online, with the 15 most popular projects each receiving a share. Visit ybs.co.uk/legacy to vote for your favourite charity.
