A FATHER and son businessman from Keighley were invited to a special party with the Prime Minister at No 10 Downing Street.

Ghulam Rasool and his son Shahid were among about 100 guests at an Eid celebration held to highlight the achievements of the UK’s Asian community.

Mr Rasool junior set up the Desi Diner North Street, Keighley, 12 months ago and provides meals at lunchtime and in the evening.

His father and uncles have for the past 40 years run the successful Rasool Brothers property development business in Keighley.

Mr Rasool said he and his father were honoured to be invited to number 10, and were looked after on the day by Mr Hopkins.

Mr Cameron dropped in for a few minutes to give a speech, then the guests were able to network.

Mr Rasool said: “Mr Cameron said the business community was contributing towards the good of the British economy.

“He also mentioned Isis and said it did not represent the Muslims either in the room or around the world.

“I agreed 100 per cent. We certainly do not support people who discredit the good of the community.”

Mr Rasool said he had had “fantastic” feedback from customers since opening the Desi Diner in November last year.
