A WOMAN who set up a new business in Haworth has pledged to donate 10 per cent of her firm's profits for the next six months to try and revive Haworth's closed fire station.

Lauren Thorpe manages Mutt Club Dog Walking and Animal Care. She lives in Prince Street, Haworth, and is the daughter of professional gardener Steve Thorpe who organised street protests against the fire station's closure last month. (Dec 2014)

Miss Thorpe, 19, said: "I feel passionately about what my dad is fighting for. I hope this will be the start of many people coming forward with donations and ideas of ways to raise money to partly fund the running of the fire station.

"There has never been a more important time for people to come together to stop the heart being taken out of Haworth."

Miss Thorpe added that she had childhood memories of being taught fire safety at Haworth Fire Station, which closed on December 31.

Mutt Club is her first business, and provides dog walking services as well as care for dogs and other pets when owners are away on holiday.
