HELP is at hand for Keighley entrepreneurs starting up in business.

An event is being held in the town to showcase a scheme set-up to offer support.

The Lloyds Bank social entrepreneurs programme provides £4,000 grants and a year of training, including a mentor.

Behind the initiative are Lloyds and the School for Social Entrepreneurs, which are staging a taster session at Central Hall, in Alice Street, on Wednesday (Feb 25), from 5pm to 7pm.

Backing is provided by the Big Lottery Fund.

Alastair Wilson, of the School for Social Entrepreneurs, said: "Working in partnership with Lloyds Bank has enabled us to support hundreds of the most inspiring social enterprises in the UK.

"This year we're thrilled to help even more individuals with a desire to impact social change and look forward to seeing how their enterprises develop and grow."

David Nicholson, for Lloyds, said the bank was delighted to be involved.

"We recognise that social entrepreneurs have real potential to enhance our society," he said.

"I am personally excited about the opportunity this programme provides for fresh business ideas that will help create social change across Yorkshire and the Humber."
