A KEIGHLEY brewery is toasting success at a top beer festival.

Bridgehouse Brewery took a coveted accolade at the Manchester Beer Festival, where over 430 real ales were on offer.

The Aireworth Road firm won the Beer of the Festival bronze medal for its new Cherry Chocolate Stout.

"This was the second year in a row we have picked up the bronze award – last year Bridgehouse Porter won the same accolade," said Simon Lamb, the brewery's sales and marketing director.

"To achieve an award once at such a prestigious event in the beer festival calendar is fabulous, but to have done it for two consecutive years is really pleasing for all concerned at the brewery.

"The new ale has prompted a lot of interest."

Bridgehouse had four tipples at the festival, and was the main sponsor of the Saturday session.

The event, at the velodrome, was attended by more than 11,000 people.
