AN UTLEY man has fought back against redundancy and launched his own photography business.
Charles Waller, who spent more than 25 years working in the printing industry before he was made redundant last December, has set up Charles Waller Photography.
He said: "Photography has always been not so much an interest but a passion of mine for over 30 years. It's become more than a hobby.
"The change to digital has helped because with film every time I hit the shutter I reckon it cost me £1. Now I can take 500 or 1,000 shots and delete 95 per cent of them because I'm just after the one shot that works."
He added that he had worked to develop his own style, using light to turn his images into works of art as well as photographs.
His photography includes studio-based and field work and he has produced striking equestrian images alongside his portraiture and landscape pictures.
"On the commercial side I'm specialising in photography for websites, promotional literature for restaurants, pubs and hotels and also large format images for display purposes," he said.
"I was recently commissioned to produce a large format image of Cowling Pinnacle for the newly opened Harlequin Restaurant in Cowling."
