A KEIGHLEY-based web design and digital marketing company has won an international award.

Squashed Pixel Ltd has received global recognition in web design after taking a prize at the A’ Design Awards and Competition.

The company, based in Devonshire Street, was one of only four winners within the category of Website and Web Design.

Staff jetted to Lake Como in Italy for the glamorous awards ceremony and gala night to receive their trophy, a certificate and a winners’ catalogue.

Their winning designs will be exhibited in Ireland as part of Dublin's World Design Hub 2015.

A Squashed Pixel spokesman said that A’ Design was the world’s largest and most diverse international design award competition.

The contest is judged by a panel of industry experts, and honours exemplary design projects from around the world.

The awards ceremony brings together a large number of designers, architects, artists, brands and companies.

This year there were 836 winners from 83 countries in 89 different design disciplines.

Squashed Pixel operations director Claire Gatenby said: “We’ve been working on an international level for some years with an extensive portfolio of Shopify ecommerce clients around the world.

“We work long and hard to make sure that we're always at the top of our game for not only our marketing, print and branding work but also our web design.

“We're proud to be a Yorkshire company, and are ecstatic to be representing Yorkshire on a global scale.

“It is great to get that industry recognition, especially as the first Bradford agency to have ever won. We squash the very best hand-picked pixels, producing 100 per cent awesome design juice!”

Established in 2009, Squashed Pixel Ltd said it had built a respectable client list in a short space of time.

It offers a full range of digital marketing services including branding, print design, social media consultancy, web design and development.

Squashed Pixel is considered to be one of the top Shopify experts in the UK.

Hoping to build on a heightened profile as a result of success in the competition, the company has brought forward its expansion plans.

It has hired its first apprentice and is now looking to hire another permanent designer to further expand a growing technical team.
