MORRISONS have raised more than £1,600 for Manorlands with the support of customers.

Staff organised a fun day in the Keighley supermarket’s car park with a host of attractions for all ages.

The event, which give customers a chance to soak staff members sitting in the stocks, raised £1,649.

A spokesman said: “We had a fantastic fun day on Saturday. The weather was good.

“We would like to say a big thank you to all staff and customers who supported the event.”

The store organised attractions including face painting, hook a duck area, coconut shy, bouncy castle, shoot the goalie, shoot the hoop, name the teddy, guess the sweets in a jar, and a tombola.

Some of the workers took turns to ride stationary ‘hybrid’ bike the same distance as from the UK to New York, with the bike later raffled. The raffle included many other prizes including a garden table and chair set.

The event coincided with a bagpack inside the store by members of a local Rainbows group.
