THE LORD Mayor of Bradford will attend the opening of a new business in Keighley.

Councillor Joanne Dodds will cut the ribbon to launch Holroyds Estate Agents, in North Street, on August 8. The business has taken over the premises previously occupied by the Room 59 salon.

Holroyds is a family owned estate and lettings agent, which has been launched by Chris Holroyd and his mother Julie.

Mr Holroyd, 26, said: "We've lived in the Haworth area for most of our lives and have over 30 years of experience between us.

"We'll be focusing a lot on the Worth Valley. I love the area and I'm looking forward to working in it."

The mother and son team will operate the firm alongside office manager Ben Walker, who is from Baildon.

Mr Holroyd explained that he had also invited the charity One in a Million to the opening, as he wants to arrange a programme of sponsorship for the good cause.

The charity works with Bradford City FC to help disadvantaged youngsters. Mr Holroyd is a fan of the club and an admirer of former Bradford player and charity co-founder Wayne Jacobs.

Holroyds has randomly delivered 250 safe keys to addresses in Keighley district. One of these will open a safe in the company's office which contains a £250 cash prize.

To be eligible, people who receive a key should attend the August 8 launch, from 11am to 3pm.
