A DEVELOPER which controversially received permission last month to build on a Keighley greenfield site says it has enjoyed a buoyant trading quarter.

Persimmon Homes West Yorkshire said sales of its new properties were continuing to rise.

The company is planning to start work on a 124-home scheme at Occupation Lane by the end of this year after the proposals, rejected by Bradford Council, were given the go-ahead by a Government inspector on appeal.

Managing director Wayne Gradwell said: "The third quarter of this year has been extremely busy for the team.

"Our private sales rate is 12 per cent ahead of last year and interest in our developments across the region is extremely encouraging.

"Growth inevitably leads to further employment and so far in 2015 we have seen an increase in our technical, commercial, construction and sales teams."

He added that Persimmon was continuing to support groups and charities through its community champions programme, which gives out two monthly donations – each worth up to £1,000 – in West Yorkshire.
