KEIGHLEY MP Kris Hopkins has officially unveiled a new stairlift at a business support centre.

Steeton-based Acorn Stairlifts donated the product to Airedale Enterprise Services (AES), which recently moved into first-floor accommodation at Crown Works Business Centre in Keighley.

Acorn stepped in following an approach from Mr Hopkins, who had performed the opening ceremony at the new-look centre in September.

"I am immensely grateful to Acorn Stairlifts for its generosity," he said.

"The future success of the Keighley economy is dependent on the success of local business, with AES at the helm.

"And thanks to its contribution, Acorn Stairlifts has more than played its part in helping local enterprise to flourish."

Wendy Spencer, business and operations manager at AES, said the stairlift meant everyone could now access its facilities.

"Our office move gave us double the space – meaning we have more services available to businesses and entrepreneurs across the district," she added.

Kate Gledhill, group human resources manager at Acorn Stairlifts, said the firm was delighted to help.

"Limited mobility should never be detrimental to business success and we're aware of the great work done by Airedale Enterprise Services – it's an excellent training facility and resource for companies of all sizes," she said.
