BOSSES at a newly-launched online personalised gifts business have ambitious plans for the fledgling operation.

The Gift Mill has been created as a standalone operation by Keighley-based Raiseprint Group, which has invested nearly £200,000 in purpose-designed state-of-the-art digital technology to offer personalised gifts through a fully interactive website.

It was the brainchild of Raiseprint Group co-owners Steve Bell and Robin Milsted, who have recruited Bingley greetings cards and commercial print and design specialist David Gaunt as creative director of The Gift Mill.

Mr Bell said: “The software package is already right up there with the lead players in our game and we will develop it further, as well as constantly look to expand our online gift offering.

“It is a huge market with massive growth potential nationally. While we may be a fledgling business, we are aiming to fly high and annual turnover of £5 million a few years down the line does not appear beyond our reach. We also have the potential to create new jobs.”

Mr Gaunt said: “The software is very clever, as customers can see exactly how their product will look, before generating print-ready artwork to be used on their chosen item. We have even incorporated a 3D viewing facility for some products, which is a first in the industry sector.”

The personalised gift ranges include computer-embroidered aprons and cushions, laser-engraved drinking glasses, aromatic candles, dining and kitchen items, picture canvasses, wood picture frames and even laser-engraved rosewood iPhone cases.

There is also a range of nine personalised cuddly toys, which come with their own personalised birth certificates and printed tubes.

Special occasion gifts along with products aimed at hobbyists and sports enthusiasts are also available.

The Gift Mill is initially aiming to build an online product portfolio of up to 200 items and also is looking to establish an international supply chain.

Mr Milsted said: “Quality is also a keyword throughout the entire product portfolio. We have not gone for cheap gifts, but goods with a touch of class. These are special items with a very personal touch and we are passionate about quality”

Raiseprint has also invested in new laser and digital canvass printing technology and computer embroidery technology at its 14,000 sq ft base in Royd Way.

The firm, which employs more than 40 people, has a second unit in Ingrow and recently took on a new 5,000 sq ft product storage unit in nearby Cross Hills.
