APPRENTICES in Keighley can now sign up to take part in a competition to find the best trade apprentice in the UK.

The search has begun in Yorkshire and the Humber for Screwfix’s Trade Apprentice 2016.

This business, which has a store in Worth Way, Keighley, is looking for the best amongst the next generation of builders, electricians, plumbers and other professionals, who can all enter for the chance to win a trade business pack worth £10,000.

Marketing director John Mewett said: “As a key supplier to the trade we believe it’s vital that we recognise and reward the future tradesmen across the UK, as they really are the foundation of any community, ensuring homes and businesses are fit for purpose.

"This competition has been created to give young apprentices a first step on the ladder in their career, and give them the tools to help them to build a successful business.”

Entries are open until Sunday March 6. The national final will be held at Google’s head office in April.
