A NEW project at Haworth Primary aims to develop a fruitful collaboration between the school and businesses.

The scheme, which is being set up by teachers and governors, is called The Business Friends of Haworth Primary School.

Headteacher, Helen Thompson, said: "We believe local business can support the school and work in partnership with us.

"Businesses have been invited to an information evening to look at how we can work together. Businesses can elect to sponsor specific initiatives in the school.

"We've been very fortunate a number of businesses are now supporting the school. Wyedean Weaving and A1 Stairlift Ltd have been among our first sponsors and have been extremely generous in their support for the school.

"Both companies have donated a new, Clevertouch interactive screen for a class, with A1 Stairlifts providing this for our designated specialist provision for children with autism and Wydean Weaving donating one for our Year 6 class.

"This new initiative has been driven by John Brownless, who is one of our school governors. A number of other small businesses are also sponsoring us in a range of different ways."
