A LEADING Keighley engineering firm has received a prestigious accolade.

Teconnex is among the winners in this year's UK Customer Excellence Awards.

The Chesham Street company picked-up the Business Transformation Highly Commended prize.

Behind the awards scheme is the Epicor Software Corporation.

Regional vice-president, Andy Archer, said: "This year's winners were rigorously evaluated to gauge excellence in deployment of our software.

"They were selected after their success stories not only stood out among all the submissions, but also set new standards for other organisations and project teams to emulate.

"We congratulate all the winners."

Teconnex, which produces clamps mainly for the automotive industry, was formed from the amalgamation of two firms in the late 1980s.

It has seen massive growth in recent years and expects that to continue.

It has developed from a 100-employee firm six years ago and anticipates recruiting at least another 150 people as it expands operations.

The company, part of the Hexadex group, has enjoyed 30 per cent year-on-year growth and has a £30 million turnover.

Chancellor George Osborne paid tribute during a visit to the factory last month (June).
