A PARTNERSHIP which helps people across the district into employment has achieved a milestone.
SkillsHouse has now supported more than 700 people to find jobs since it was launched in June last year.
The scheme – part of Bradford Council’s Get Bradford Working programme – works with organisations including Jobcentre Plus, Westfield and People First.
A seasonal recruitment drive has resulted in a surge of jobs with companies such as Marks & Spencer.
Steve King, for M&S, said: "We are delighted to continue our relationship with SkillsHouse.
"It's great that our vacancies are being filled by people from the local community.
"We have had many successful candidates previously and look forward to having some really talented people again this year."
Councillor Imran Khan, the council's portfolio holder for education, employment and skills, said: "It's good news that so many people are continuing to access the recruitment and training on offer at SkillsHouse.
"Supporting local people so they can gain the skills they need to get into employment is a key priority for the council and it brings benefit to the district as a whole."
