A DISABILITY football club is celebrating after netting a £1,000 donation.

The cash, from Persimmon Homes, will help Bradford Disability FC pay for venue hire at Keighley College and FA-qualified coaches to lead sessions.

The grant is from Persimmon’s community champions scheme, which enables charitable groups to apply for match funding.

Wayne Gradwell, the firm’s managing director, said: “Supporting groups such as Bradford Disability Football Club is exactly what community champions is about.

“We know how important the club is to members of the community and we wanted to help out in any way we could.”

Jayne Winn, the club’s fundraising officer, thanked Persimmon for its backing.

She added: “We open our doors to anyone with a disability.

“For some of our members the training sessions are the only opportunity they have to socialise each week.”
