A HOUSEBUILDER’S technical team has completed a gruelling coast-to-coast bike ride in aid of a hospice.
Eight colleagues from Barratt Developments Yorkshire West covered a 150-mile route from Whitehaven to Tynemouth.
Their effort, staged over two days, raised £1,800 for St Gemma’s in Leeds.
The team – comprising Dave Hudson, Graham Rhodes, Martin Brown, Richard Colley, Gavin Wilkinson, Andy Croft, Tom Pardey and Steve Corcoran – faced 12,000 feet of ascents and had to battle against testing weather conditions.
“It was always going to be a difficult ride but the 40mph head wind and driving rain only added to the fun!” said Mr Hudson.
Barratt – which includes David Wilson Homes – has the Vision development at Braithwaite and Hewenden Ridge, Cullingworth.
