A BUILDING society has received recognition for its community work which has benefited countless people across Keighley.
Yorkshire Building Society was among the winners in the prestigious Third Sector Business Charity Awards.
It took top prize in the corporate social responsibility team of the year category.
The award was for the company's Society Matters strategy, which includes schools programmes to improve financial literacy and a charity partnership with End Youth Homelessness. The partnership has already raised over £358,000.
Pauline Giroux, the society's corporate responsibility manager, said: "As a mutual organisation owned by our members we're committed to creating a lasting, positive impact on society.
"Through our corporate responsibility programme, we are supporting our customers, colleagues, local communities and the environment.
"It was an honour to be able to collect the award on behalf of everyone at Yorkshire Building Society. It is fantastic recognition of the good work that our colleagues do across the country, delivering on our Society Matters strategy."
