A HOUSEBUILDER with schemes in Keighley and Cullingworth has unveiled its new charity partner.

Barratt Developments Yorkshire West, which also includes the David Wilson Homes brand, has announced it will be supporting children’s cancer charity Candlelighters for the remainder of this year and beyond.

Employees of the firm, which has the Vision development at Braithwaite and Hewenden Ridge in Cullingworth, will stage a series of fundraising activities.

Staff selected Candlelighters in a vote.

Ian Ruthven, the company’s managing director, said: “The charity makes a huge difference to many children and their families across our region. We are proud to support such a worthy cause.

“Our employees are brilliant at taking part in charity activities and we’re looking forward to all the fundraising events planned throughout the year.”

Amy Harrison, corporate fundraiser at Candlelighters, welcomed the partnership.

“We are absolutely delighted to be working with Barratt Developments Yorkshire West,” she said.

“I look forward to meeting staff throughout the year and getting involved with their fantastic fundraising.

“The difference organisations like Barratt Developments can make is essential to keeping our services running for the 150 children across Yorkshire who are diagnosed with cancer every year.”
